For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
It is just after 4pm on December 31st. I’m sat on the couch accompanied by my kitties; Merlin sleeps peacefully purring next to me and Salem under his beloved Christmas tree. He’ll miss the shiny ornaments when it comes down this weekend. Another Holiday Season come and gone. The rain’s been falling non stop all day and as night falls and the city skyline shimmers with lights from apartments and cars driving across the bridge, I’m happy to be here, in complete silence thinking about the new year. A new decade!
I think if I have to choose one goal to focus on this decade, it will most definitely be our health. A few months back we introduced a mainly plant based diet at home and that with a combination of movement (yoga, hiking, running) is what I want to continue to practice both for my physical as well as my mental wellbeing.
I received some wonderful vegan cookbooks for Christmas this year and am enjoying this quiet dark afternoon, marking pages with recipes I can’t wait to try. These little cat sticky’s that came in my stocking last year are coming in handy.
6PM: I’ve set the table and lit candles and made a comforting cauliflower curry for dinner. It’ll be a quiet night for us. Seth is fighting a bit of a cold so we decided to stay in. I think it’s the first time in years that we just stay home on NYE. As an introvert, I’ll admit, I couldn’t be happier. We’ll make mulled wine after dinner and enjoy the festivities at Time Square in New York on TV.
Here’s the recipe to my Cauliflower & Potato Curry. It’s so easy and delicious: https://thebellwitchmanor.blog/2019/11/08/cauliflower-and-potato-curry-vegan/
After dinner we enjoyed a cup of Mulled wine and dark chocolate while we talked about our goals and inspiration before ringing in the new year. Where will 2020 take you?
Happy New Year Everyone!
